Both Fibertex-B60 and Fibertex-R60 are medium weight Rockwool products for thermal insulation and sound control in buildings. Both consist of long, fine libres spun from molten natural rock. bon by thermosetring resins. Fibertex-B6D is supplied in flexible roll form for ease of installation over large areas. Fibertex-R60 is supplied as semi-rigid sheets for applications where a stiffer, more rigid product is desirable. Both products are available to order with a wide range of factory applied facings, including various grades of aluminium foil laminate. Fiberter-B60 provides superior thermal and acoustic performance when installed under metal deck roofing and wall cladding. It is particularly useful in reducing rains noise on metal roofs. Both products may be used to insulate concrete soffits, external walls, spandrel panels, and cavity partitions, and as sound absorbent lining of plant rooms and machinery enclosures. The choice of product depends on whether a flexible or rigid product is more suitable for the particular application. Fibertex-R60 may also be used as the resilient layer in a floating floor. The natural resilience of Fibertex-R60 absorbs impacts which would otherwise be transmitted through the building structure.
